Medication Assistance Program

Mount Rogers Medication Assistance Program (MAP)

About

The MAP program was designed to help uninsured individuals in the Southwest Virginia area have access to prescriptions by using the Pharmacy Connection Software.  Funds have been made available through the Commonwealth of Virginia and the Virginia Health Care Foundation (VHCF) to establish the Mt. Rogers Medication Assistance Program to help eligible uninsured residents of the Mt. Rogers Planning District obtain free medications with the help of paid staff who will use The Pharmacy Connection.  The Patient Advocate assists with filing the application for free medications offered by the drug companies.  The drug companies process the application, supply, and ship the drugs.

Eligibility

Participation in the program is based on the following:

  1.  Individual or total family income
  2. Have no prescription coverage in insurance plan
  3. Prescriptions will be limited to medications available through The Pharmacy Connection

The Mt. Rogers MAP is available to all eligible uninsured residents of Planning District 3.  It agrees to services the entire target population in applying for the medication assistance.
