New Day Recovery Marks 10 Years of Substance Abuse Recovery Services in Southwest Virginia

SVCHS invites community to anniversary open houses in Tazewell, Bristol and Saltville

SALTVILLE, Va. (Oct. 1, 2026) — New Day Recovery, a program of Southwest Virginia Community Health Systems (SVCHS), is celebrating 10 years of providing substance use disorder treatment and recovery support in Southwest Virginia. Community members are invited to join the celebration at open houses in Tazewell on Oct. 5, Bristol on Oct. 12 and Saltville on Nov. 2. Each event will be held from 1-3 p.m.

Since opening in Saltville in 2016, New Day Recovery has expanded to Bristol and Tazewell, bringing integrated, evidence-based treatment closer to home for more individuals and families throughout the region. By addressing both physical and behavioral health needs, the program works with each individual to develop a path forward based on their unique circumstances and recovery goals.

“Over the past 10 years, we have seen how important it is for people to have access to treatment that is both evidence-based and personal,” said Marcy Rosenbaum, LCSW, CSAC, director of Behavioral Health and New Day Recovery. “Recovery looks different for everyone. Our role is to meet people where they are, listen to their needs and provide clinical support to help them move forward.”

The 10-year milestone reflects the growth of New Day Recovery and the contributions of the individuals, families, staff and community partners who have been part of its work throughout Southwest Virginia. As the program enters its next decade, New Day Recovery remains committed to making compassionate, high-quality treatment accessible to those who need it.
